I have history of the parish, dated 1964. It was in the Delray section of Detroit

There was another Hungarian Greek Catholic parish in the downriver area south of Detroit, possibly founded by people who had come from the Delray parish. I cannot recall the name. I believe the parish closed some years ago. Its building, as I recall, was basically a very large hall, with floor-to-ceiling folding doors at one end that separated the hall area from a smallish chapel where services were celebrated most of the time. The folding doors were opened to accommodate larger numbers of people a few times a year.

I don't recall Hungarian Greek Catholic parishes functioning when I grew up in Detroit. So they must have closed early? Are any left in the Metro Detroit area or were their parishoners absorbed by Ruthenian Byzantine Catholic and other RC parishes?

I think that St.John's had closed well before I left the Detroit area in 1994, but my recollection is that the other "Downriver" Magyar BC parish was functioning in the '80's.

Well, it is a shame that architecturally distinct and relevant structures like this one are being lost.
